With Plastic XI, Cédric Brion explores the relationship between the human body, light, and perception through a black-and-white photographic composition that is both minimalist and deeply expressive.
Behind a translucent surface, a female silhouette reveals itself in a subtle play of light and shadow. The gestures of the hands, the contours of the body, and the intentionally blurred face create the impression of an apparition, like a presence suspended between reality and abstraction.
Here, material becomes a true visual language. It distorts, conceals, and transforms the body, blurring the boundaries between the visible and the invisible.
The contrast between bright areas and deep shadows lends the image a mysterious, almost unreal atmosphere. The silhouette seems to seek a way through this fragile boundary, evoking confinement, vulnerability, and the longing for freedom.
