Cedric Brion, photographer

My name is Cédric Brion and I am a freelance photographer based in Mons, Belgium, where I was born in 1978. I have always been drawn to the visual arts, but it was at 18 that I discovered my true passion for photography.

I started with a simple film camera and developed my photos in the darkness of my room, learning through experimentation and curiosity. Over the years, I have honed my skills and deepened my understanding of the craft.

My journey towards professional photography began with various competitions and corporate assignments. Each project has helped shape my artistic vision and strengthen my commitment to creating meaningful and visually compelling works.

Motivation and Vision

My fascination with creating portraits with dark and gloomy atmospheres dates back to my earliest childhood. From a young age, I was captivated by fantastical worlds, and this sense of wonder still motivates me today. Through my photographs, I strive to create portraits that act as portals, inviting the viewer into parallel universes beyond the visible.

I see each portrait as an open window into an imaginary world. A clarity often emerges from the depths of darkness, a clarity that touches me deeply. A bright light can dazzle and overwhelm, but in the darkness, it gains definition and power. I seek to explore and capture these contrasts in my work.

Ancient civilizations have always inspired me, with their rich symbolism and timeless stories. Through my portraits, I hope to awaken something in the viewer: a moment of recognition, a reflection of their own inner world. My goal is for each image to resonate on a personal level, creating a connection that endures beyond the frame.
